Task 7: Hit Man

Players tonight you will be working again as a group. However, you’ll all also be potentially playing for an individual exemption as well. This will be a game similar to the board game Clue (Cluedo).

It seems the reason that our dear friend Taylor disappeared was in fact because he was MURDERED! As a group, you’ll need to solve the mystery of who killed him, what weapon was used and in what location.

In each of your journals you will find the name of a suspect, a weapon or a location. Whatever you have in your journal is not part of the crime. So if your have the Dining Room, you know the crime did not occur in the Dining Room. It is up to each of you whether you publicly share what you receive. The more revealed by the group, the easier it will be to solve the mystery. However, it could be easier to win the exemption if you don't share your information.

Your group will start with $20,000 to be added to the group pot. At any point, the group can decide to just bank any remaining money in the pot and the challenge ends right away. The other option is to attempt to solve the mystery. You can attempt to solve the mystery by guessing 1 name, 1 weapon and 1 location. Each time a player guesses, $1000 will be deducted from the potential earnings. If anyone is able to get all 3 parts of the murder correct, $25,000 will be added to the group pot.

There is one additional temptation to the game. If you get any aspect (the name, weapon or location) of the mystery correct on your guess, you will get to draw 1 of 4 cards. Only the first person to identify will get to draw the card.

The 4 cards are:

1. Exemption – draw this card and you earn an exemption from the next execution quiz
2. +1 – draw this card and you’ll get an extra point automatically added to your next execution quiz
3. -1 – draw this card and you’ll get to give another player in the game an automatic negative point on the next execution quiz
4. Execution – draw the card and this challenge ends immediately and no money is added to the pot.


The game will end in 1 of 4 ways:
1. The group agrees to end the game and bank whatever money remains (whatever money remains is added to the pot). This will happen if 15 minutes passes without anybody making a guess
2. The $20,000 dwindles down to $0 (no money added to the pot) due to incorrect guesses
3. Someone draws the EXECUTION card (no money added to the pot)
4. Someone solves the crime by correctly guessing all 3 aspects correctly ($25,000 added to the pot)

No. You can guess as many times as possible. You'll lose potential money with each guess though.

Will we be told if someone gets to draw a card? Because that could give us a clue as to if one of the three in the guess is right.

sorry...got that wrong...we start with 20,000 , which means our money goes down from there. It's very late here lol

This sounds really hard.

You start with $20,000 and can bank it. Each guess you'll lose $1000. But if you get all 3 parts of the mystery correct, you'll get $25,000.

Oh nevermind. I must be sleepy too. I get the money thing now.

fuck it , there's 4 of us here, at least we made an effort. Why not have a few guesses ? if the others moan, then they can just turn up next time
